hope is such a funny thing isnt it? everyone has hope in one way or another, whether its merely anticipating something and getting your hopes up about it, or the more faith-like hope where you dont give up holding on to something because you believe its right. but why do we all do it when its such a let down? the most faithful of people get their hopes shattered, even when others are thinking the way they are... and really believe something is going to happen. the problem here is people. we are jerks. every one of us has shattered somebody else's hopes at one point. we cant please everyone. people expect too much, we expect too much. and hope would be such a more satisfying thing should we be able to handle it and please everyone. but we cant. we just cant.

|
there are some things in life, okay alot of things, that perplex me. how opposites attract, how we compare one person to another, how we constantly look for something "better" than we already have. but who's to define what is good and what isn't? is rain really "bad" weather? personally i like rain. i like driving in the rain. putting things in perspective is no way to judge either. because, really, it depends on the state of mind one is in. if someone is hungry, barbeque may smell fantastic to them, but to someone who is full the smell of barbeque just may be enough to make them want to vomit. its really all in the state of mind. I'm sure there are millions of people out there who dream of having a life like mine: food, shelter, expensive clothing, yet i myself am not happy. i would take life as a nomad over where i am now as long as i felt happy and secure. this really is a hard concept to grasp, but its something to really think about. where is the line drawn between bad and good? its wherever your mind subconsiously places it.
